Step 1: Gather Your Greenery

Start by gathering your greenery. You can purchase bundles from a local florist or forage responsibly from your own backyard. Choose a mix of textures and shades for a more dynamic look. Begin by laying out your greenery to form a base for your garland. Use floral wire or twine to secure the branches together, overlapping them slightly to create a seamless appearance.

Step 2: Prepare the Dried Oranges

Dried oranges add a cheerful, rustic touch to your garland. Simply slice oranges thinly and bake them at low heat (around 200°F/93°C) for several hours until they are completely dry. Once ready, use fishing line to attach them to your garland.

Step 3: Add the Lights

String lights bring warmth and sparkle to your garland. Opt for battery-operated lights for ease of use and safety. Start at one end of the garland and weave the lights through the greenery, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Secure the battery pack discreetly within the foliage.

Step 4: Final Touches

For an extra festive touch, I added some adorable craft birds, and they really made the garland shine! These can be tucked into the greenery or secured with wire to enhance the natural theme of your garland. Adjust any elements as needed to achieve your desired look.
