No Sew DIY Curtains - Use Scarves as Curtains
Hello, creative friends! Today, we're going to give those boring windows a super fun, artistic and affordable makeover with scarves—we're going to use them as curtains! They’re going to look fantastic and it's going to take about just 10 minutes.
This quick 4-minute video provides the rundown along with tips, tricks, and costs for using scarves as curtains and how you might use different types, such as blanket or square, depending on your window needs.
Our journey begins with our quirky little house built in 1902. This eclectic style house has nine dormer windows. Some of these windows are in bedrooms, and some are tucked away inside closets. For this project, we’re looking for curtains for the master bedroom.
At first, I was at a loss. I couldn't find anything that fit the area and was also cute. The ones that I liked best were too expensive for such small windows, and it didn't make sense to waste a lot of fabric and cut them. But inspiration struck at an estate sale! As I was rummaging through a pile of vintage scarves, I realized they were all square and if I could find the right size, they would be perfect for my windows.
After some online treasure hunting, I stumbled onto these beauties. The vibrant colors and the whimsical style made me so happy! They had a few colorways, but I liked the white background the best. It felt crisp, fresh with a pop of color.
And voila! Here is the final result. What do you think? I absolutely love how they turned out! They feel luxurious, fancy and are perfect for the spring and summer months.
This is a great temporary solution until we renovate the master bedroom. Such a cute nook!
Next time you're at a loss about what to do with your windows, consider using scarves! Remember, your home is a canvas, and you're the artist. Paint it with your creativity.
